Control Problems

Joie here. I know this is long overdue, but I would like to talk about my experience with game controllers. As an inexperienced player handling the controller and playing horror games has been an obstacle for me. It has had two different effects on me. My first time not knowing what to do with the controller made me laugh and I was unable to actually amerce myself into the game because I was going the wrong way or looking up when I was attacking my enemy. I was so busy getting used to the controller that I had a hard time focusing on what the game had to offer. On the other hand, sometimes when there was an action sequence I think I felt more afraid in the situation because I was unsure of how to move; I would hesitate on which buttons to press. There were times when I would just have to hand off the controller because I was just going to kill the character I was playing. Either way my ignorance was getting in the way of my game play and it made actually being apart of the game and connecting with the game and character very difficult. Though I did experience a certain amount of fear I am sure that it would have been a more frightening experience if I actually knew what I was doing.
